Do You Struggle to Stay Motivated?

One of the questions I'm always asked is "How do I stay motivated?" The answer is, you can not. Motivation is something that last at the most for 72 hours. So that means you need to develop a "Motivational Tool Box."

I tell you about that later, but first let me give you a few tips as well on how to get the most from your time. Each of us have peek performing hours where we feel the most energized, you need to identify yours. I work best when the house is quiet. So I like to wake up early in the morning and get my most important task done.

The next thing you need to learn to do is finish projects that you are really not excited about FIRST. When you are your most energized you need to do the task that sap your energy, because you need more fuel to finish those task.

And lastly, work in time frames. I give each project a time frame and when that time is up I leave it alone. I take a 10 to 15 minute brake and start to work on another project. This allows me to take a step back and when I return to the project I am fresh.

Hope these little tips help. Now for your "Motivational Tool Box." With all the little gadgets we have now, it is very easy to create a MTB. On my iPhone I have podcast, books and music that motivate me. All in one place I can get some motivation. Before I get ready to tackle a project I blast my favorite song. I love listening to Jim Rohn and Les Brown so I have them on the ready. I allow them to talk to me when I feel like given up or I'm tired. Out of nowhere I hear "YOU GOT TO BE HUNGRY or DON'T ASK FOR IT TO BE EASIER." Pumps me up every time and gives me that extra boost I need.

So find your times when you are most energized, start with the projects you least want to do and work in time frames. Be sure to create you an awesome "Motivational Tool Box" today.
